My story of ending up doing a DTS here in Tijuana, Mexico.

After i started traveling in 2022 to Australia with friends, the curiosity of countries and cultures really grew. Coming home after 8 months in Oceanian, i had one dream. To travel more. As i started planing and thinking of locations, i noticed that I was lacking something from the latest trip. Dont get me wrong, it was a an amazing trip, with friends and meeting family and growing personally. I did not bring God with me on that trip, or even my everyday life. With connections to churches in Peru, i thought that it would be easy to start off there. Somehow those plans faded away and i was introduced to Homes of hope, a ministry in YWAM (Youth With A Mission). This ministry builds homes for people in need, at multiple locations around the world. For me, God put Costa Rica in front off me. First solo trip, not speaking the same language or really knowing the culture, I bought the ticket, applied to volunteer and wanted to stay here for like 6 weeks. Long story short, I ended up being there for 12 weeks. Enjoying serving on maintaince at the base i lived on, building a few homes and a lot of concrete floors. The next 3 months was a visiting 7 other countries, exploring, meeting new cultures, making friends. Working for a short period on several other bases, i ended up spending my last month in Mexico. Tijuana kinda sparked this whole trip, so i had to go there, to see the place that helped my reconnect with God. Spending 2 weeks here in Tijunana volunteering, was such a joy. Creating strong bonds and more connections with more friends, from all over the world. Considering to join a school grow on me. On my last day, a girl shared her experience about a disciple school here, that has a track with photograhy. Me having a new passion for photos, made it sound cool. So they told me how they use ministry with photography, and using your camera to connect with people, getting to hear their stories, tell them about Jesus, and praying for them. Sounds awesome, right? So how it works, is basically just going to the streets, put up a sign saying “free portraits”, and people come. So me traveling the past 5 months to 7 different countries, being out taking pictures most days. Had never used it to talk about Jesus before. The day after i hear about this ministry, i just arrived in Ensenada in the evening, arround sunset time. Me walking at the bordwalk, and this family asked if i would take their picture. “Of course” i said. Ending up talking to this family about Gods love and what i have been doing the last 5 months. To me, this was a clear sign from God. He wanted me to join the school this september. With that settled, i went back home, 1st of juli. Started working and enjoying life back in Denmark for 2,5 months, seeing family and friends. Getting tickets for September 15th, leaving Copenhagen airport, going back to Tijuana for the school. Now 5 weeks in the school. Growing with God and learning about storytelling. We, as a part of the Media track had to make a blog. Here is mine. On this blog, i will post projects throughout the school, ministry pictures and just my favorite pictures i’ve taken while traveling. Enjoyy fam
